Procedure for Donating Money to Groups Affiliated with the Wayne Central School District
Statement: The WTA will donate money to support various student based activities including student theater performances, clubs, sports boosters, high school year book, and any other valid student based activity as recognized by the Wayne Central School District and WTA. Money will only be donated to fundraisers where the WTA will have its name advertised in a public forum.
This procedure will be reviewed annually coinciding with setting of the WTA Annual Budget and adjusted accordingly based on available funds.
Interested parties should contact the WTA President and Treasurer and make a request for funds. Such a request should be done through email or written letter and include description of the fundraiser and all forms and/or documents required to make a donation.
The WTA Representative Council will approve all expenditures by means of vote. (simple majority required)
Guidelines for expenditures:
The WTA will purchase one full page add in the high school year book.
The WTA will purchase a small advertisement in the program of at most 3 different theater performances during the school year. Of the 3 different theater programs at least 1 must be from the High School and at least one must be from the Middle School. Each expenditure is set at the cost of a small advertisement or $25 per theater performance.
The WTA will purchase a small advertisement for at most 9 different student based activities including (Sports Boosters, Clubs, or other student based activity). These advertisements shall be distributed throughout the school year with at most 3 advertisements reserved for each of the Fall, Winter, and Spring periods. Advertisements will be reviewed on a first come first serve basis. In the event that a group is denied funds for the reason of the WTA has already made 3 advertisements during that time period, then that group shall be given special consideration for funds during a proceeding school year if so requested by the group. (Special consideration is not meant to increase the total number of advertisements in proceeding years, unless approved by the WTA Representative Council, but simply rotate on a yearly basis which groups receive donations for advertisements). Each expenditure is set at the cost of a small advertisement or $25 per group requesting funds.
