FSA and 105 Plan

FSA: (Flexible Spending Account)  is voluntary pre-tax dollars that you set aside to use for qualified medical expenses.  The current FSA plan year is August 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010.  Next year's plan year will run August 1, 2010 to July 31, 2011.  Any money that you set aside in your FSA account must be spend by the end of the plan year.  Make sure that you spend all of your FSA money by July 31, 2010 as you lose any remaining funds.  The next open FSA enrollment period will be during the health insurance enrollment period in May/June 2010

105 Plan:  is a medical reimbursement plan for the bargaining unit members who were employed by WCSD on or before June 30, 2006.  The District contributes $800 per year during the contract, with a COLA increase each year.  If you do not spend all of this money during the plan year the money carries over to the next year.  You also get to keep the money if you are no longer employed with the WCSD.  This plan year runs from August 1, 2009 until July 31, 2010.
